Free audit reveals £8M savings
A CLUSTER of Primary Care Trusts has been shown it has the potential to make savings of around £8M a year.
One of the five trusts which makes up the cluster took up Matrix SCM’s offer to stage a discovery audit which examined its £5M annual spend on continuing health care.
The audit showed that the Trust could save 10% of the £5M direct cost of continuing health care provision and a further £228K a year on process efficiencies. Across the cluster, which spends £80M a year on continuing health care, savings could be £8M.

Winning formula for Knowsley Council
A BOLD move by Knowsley Council to transform the way it engages and manages consultants and project specialists has brought instant benefits.
The Council engaged Matrix SCM to implement its technology platform – SProc.Net – which takes the pain out of engaging consultants while reducing the cost.
Within 10 days of going live with SProc.Net, Knowsley Council placed its first requirement for a planning consultant onto the system which resulted in a saving of more than 15% on the original budget.

Bringing Personalised Commissioning to Life
This study shows how Coventry City Council and Matrix SCM created, developed and implemented a social care solution to allow end users greater choice and control over their support provisions, whilst also delivering full transparency and opportunities for cost savings to the Council.
The hard work and dedication of both was rewarded when this new innovative solution was presented the National Great British Home Care Award for Innovation – 2011. Matrix SCM at the heart of social care
A SOCIAL care solution which Matrix SCM delivered for Coventry City Council is an award-winner.
Matrix SCM created, developed and implemented the solution which allows end-users greater choice and control over their social care support and gives Coventry City Council greater efficiencies and cost savings through better use of its existing framework contracts. In addition, the Council has seen a significant decrease in spot purchasing of care requirements since the implementation of SProc.Net.
And the success of the system earned the partners a National Great British Home Care Award for Innovation in 2011.

Discovering savings at Lambeth Council
A FREE discovery audit delivered by Matrix SCM has led to Lambeth Council making average savings of £4M on its annual spend on
temporary agency staff.
The company carried out the audit of the council’s annual £32M spend and as a result of its findings, Lambeth Borough Council moved from a managed service provider to Matrix SCM’s services procurement technology.
The move resulted in Lambeth Borough Council initially gaining 8% cash savings via the re-procurement of supplier rates which then increased to 12.5% through implementation of a fixed pricing system.

The Commission appoints auditors to councils, NHS bodies (excluding NHS Foundation trusts), police authorities and other local public services in England, and oversees their work.
