Bullet PointOn-line option for Commissioning Support Services
MATRIX SCM is offering healthcare commissioners grappling with the Government’s four per cent efficiency targets, a moneysupermarket.com-style solution.

Its on-line procurement technology, SProc.Net, offers healthcare commissioners the ability to compare healthcare services and prices being offered for those services.

The procurement technology acts like a window to the care services marketplace. Buyers from the soon-to-be-formed Commissioning Support Services and from Acute Trusts and PCTs would enter their care service requirements onto SProc.Net and then suppliers who have been vetted and pre-registered by Matrix SCM are automatically alerted of the buyers’ requirements.

It’s then up to the suppliers to bid to meet the requirement and win the contract by offering their best price.

SProc.Net, specifically geared to helping care services commissioners in Acute Trusts and PCTs, is making average annual savings for its 60+ public sector clients of between 10 and 12 per cent.

James Whitney, Matrix SCM’s Business Development Manager for the Health Sector commented: “Our procurement solution and technology automates the whole process of engaging care services from start to end. It drives down the cost while improving quality.”

Bullet PointMatrix SCM boosts social care expertise
MATRIX SCM has appointed Alan Winstanley as Business Development Manager. Alan’s focus will be to introduce Matrix SCM’s commissioning solution to social care leaders and professionals across the UK.

The company already works with more than 60 public sector organisations. Its technology and accompanying support package reduces the costs of procuring and commissioning services while improving the quality of the services supplied.

The commissioning solution is particularly suited to the personalisation agenda, creating a portal through which individuals – and commissioning organisations – can purchase care services, and pay for these directly online.

Alan Winstanley has joined Matrix SCM from PwC where he was a Senior Manager in their Social Care Practice working with Adult Social Care and Housing Directorates for, among others, Derby CC and Essex CC.

Said Alan: “Councils and the NHS have to make considerable efficiency savings of around 20 per cent on social care costs and our commissioning solution can make significant inroads into reaching those savings targets.”.
